Officially - they he no meaning...

They are just names for primitives.Each of our transceivers has so far had a unique library name:

GT - Virtex-II Pro

GT10 - Virtex-II Pro X

GT11 - Virtex-4 FX

GTP - Virtex-5 LXT/SXT

GTX - Virtex-5 FXT/TXT I
